What to expect from the deprecated versions of Postman Desktop app v7 and v8?

The Postman Desktop app v7 and v8 are deprecated.

Note: Keeping Postman updated with the latest version allows you to have the latest security features and fixes as soon as they’re available.

What will happen to my data when updating to v10?

If your data is synced to Postman, they'll move smoothly once you have updated the app.

Note: If you don’t know whether or not your work is synced, go to this page to view all your collections and check if they all appear. You should also review your activity feed to verify that all recent changes have been captured.

If you're using Postman locally without signing in to a Postman account, export your data before updating to v10. Once you have updated the app, import your data into the Postman Desktop app.

Does the deprecation of Postman Desktop app v7 mean I will stop having access to it?

The version may work, but we encourage you to transition to the latest Postman version, as continued reliance on deprecated elements may lead to reduced functionality or eventual removal in future updates.

Note: If someone in your Postman team has upgraded to v7 and you haven't, your data will no longer be synced to Postman servers. The Browse mode will show you the error Looks like you’re offline. However, you will still be able to access the app offline using the Build mode.
