You may have seen the yellow warning on the Postman Chrome app indicating that Google is deprecating Chrome apps.
What does this mean for you?
- New Chrome app installs will not be possible once Google sunsets the ecosystem. Old apps should continue working.
- Chrome OS users will be able to continue using the app too. According to Google, "All types of Chrome apps will remain supported and maintained on Chrome OS for the foreseeable future".
We encourage all Windows, OSX, and Linux users to switch to the native apps (available from http://postman.com/apps). Native apps offer better performance, native support for cookies, and new collection-level features like scripts and authorization. Check out our blog post about this here - http://blog.postman.com/2017/03/14/going-native/.
Due to the significant difference between the native and Chrome app at this point, we will be prioritizing our native apps. We'll continue to push bug-fixes to the Chrome app as long as we can.
The easiest way to migrate is to make sure you're signed in to the Chrome app with Sync enabled. You can verify that all your collections are synced by heading to https://go.postman.co/me/collections. All your synced data will automatically show up in the native app when you sign in.
If you do not have sync enabled, head to the Settings window in Postman (the wrench icon on the top-right), and click on the Data tab. Here, you'll be able to download all your data and import it into the native apps.
